Class 6
SUBORDINATE CLAUSES/ DEPENDENT CLAUSES
Subordinate clause:a group of related words with a subject and verb that is introduced by a subordinator. It makes an incomplete sentence.
Exp: Because we enjoy eating Ice cream
This is a subordinate clause. The underlined word is the subordinator.


Subordinators
Place: where, wherever
Time: after, before, when, whenever, as, since, until, as soon as, while, as long as
Cause/Purpose: so that, in order that, as, because, since, that, why
Condition: if, unless, when, whether
Contrast: although, even though, while
Concession: as if, though, although
Comparison: than
Identification: that, who, what, whom, whose, which
* Know at least 2 from each category.
